Anti-Spyware Software
« on: May 28, 2010, 07:07:19 AM »
I'm currently running an anti-virus program on my laptop computer which works well, but I still get infected with "spyware" problems. Can anyone recommend a good anti-spyware tool or software product that I could use in conjunction with my anti-virus program ?

Spyware Doctor from pctools is what I use in conjunction with Avast Anti-Virus. I had a bad trojan horse that Avast missed. Spyware Doctor got rid of it and it has ongoing protection. A little pricey though at $40.

Malwarebytes hasn't failed me yet, I highly recommend it along with Avast as max321 mentioned. Also, never buy those anti-viruses that are promoted when you're infected that claim to automatically remove the infection as they're a scam (the company behind them is typically responsible for creating the infection in the first place).

My computer guy recommends purchasing Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware because the paid version runs in the background like your antivirus does, and keeps the malware off your computer completely.
