Well I think vitualization is a good idea for any hosting company- or any company using mass energy on a 24/7 basis. I would pay more for that service, as opposed to a company who just buys carbon credits (which is a load of cr*p scam). It is something physically greener.  :)

How does virtualization actually work. This is a big word for me so pardon me for asking. I can understand a bit when you say powerful servers but how you make the powerful servers become even more powerful by virtualization?

Virtualization is basically software that will allow you to run multiple `computers` on the same piece of hardware. Think of it like opening several different pieces of software on your computer at the same time.  But in this instance, the software happens to be a different operating system.  Most hosting companies use what are called `Virtual Machines`.

Green hosting involves the use of "virtual servers" in the computing enviornment. It's not the same as "green" as we think of alternative energy say for oil. It's a way to optimize computing equipment, make it more efficient, and ultimately save money and energry use.
