Two websites for one shared hosting package
« on: March 05, 2010, 01:08:36 PM »
I'm interested in getting the X2 package. Will it be possible if I will upload two different websites with that package? Which package would you recommend if I wanted to get a shared hosting package and upload 2 websites?

Quote
X2
DISK SPACE: 2000MB
BANDWIDTH: 20000MB
MYSQL DB's: 6
EMAIL ACCOUNTS: 100
FTP ACCOUNTS: 40
EMAIL LISTS: 10
PARKED DOMAINS: 2
SUBDOMAINS: 12
ADDON DOMAINS: 4

I quote it from your shared hosting plans. Sorry I am new here so I don't know if it's allowed or not. I hope it's OK. Learning the list above, if you use X2 hosting plan, you are allowed to upload up to four websites (4 addon domains).

Thanks for quoting that package for me. I failed to read the last line which answers my question. It is possible but what I'm thinking is about the resources that will be used if 2 or more websites will run through this package.

Hello CID,  You can host more than one website at a time on your shared hosting package no problem.  If your account starts to consistently reach it's limits, we usually contact the customer to discuss upgrading their package plan.

That is also what the subdomain and the addon domain features are for too.  Just FYI.   8)

Exactly-that's what the sub and add ons are for. Just create your distinct sites as a sub-section of the main site, and you have a relatively large amount of flexibility this way.

I'd avoid subdomains for entirely new sites especially if you can afford another domain but if you had a general entertainment site for instance and wanted to focus on just movies, then I'd probably use movies.yourdomain instead of having a brand new domain for it.

So, when I finish one site, I can start another with the same hosting package?!  That would be a great time and money saver for me just starting out.  Great info!

Actually X2 and Greater just went Unlimited features which means you can host as many sites as you have disk space and bandwidth for!

I recently noticed this change as well which was quite welcomed as I had some idling domains without a home, now I can point the DNS here and hopefully put them into good use.
