Webmail Question
« on: March 12, 2010, 05:51:29 PM »
What do you use to access the webmail? Do you all use something like Squirrel-mail or do we have a choice as to which one we would like to use?

we offer 3 choices:
Roundcube
Horde
Squirrel Mail

You can use any of the above selections whenever you like so you are not tied down to 2 particular interface. You can also use any standard Email client.

How does webmail differ from the email that my ISP gave me? Do they work the same or are there more advantages of using webmail? I don't use the email of my ISP because I'm afraid that it might get attacked by hackers and my personal information will be compromised.

That risk exists for any account unless you have used fake information. Just ensure that you have a strong password and that you don't get silly with who you email or who you give information to.

Our webmail is more "feature rich" and allows you to have email @yourdomain instead of @yourispsdomain.

You can setup new accounts, you can add forwarders, you can setup autoresponders, you can use webmail / pop3 mail / imap mail. There are a lot of benefits to our webmail that greatly exceed a typical ISP mail account.

That is perfect. I like to use Squirrel-Mail for most of my needs but there are a few thinks that I prefer to use Horde for. I was really hoping that you used these. It is nice that you offer the standard client options as well since I have been known to use incredimail for my personal emails. :)
